Chic And Easy Beading is a wonderful compilation volume of all the projects from Bead and Button’s special “Chic & Easy Beading” publications. I recognize many of these projects from previous years issues, so this is a wonderful addition to your library if you missed these issues!

Unlike the regular Bead and Button magazine, these are projects that are much easier to complete. Very few of the projects involve needlework or beadweaving, but the results are still intricate and gorgeous…noone has to know it didn’t take you hours to complete!

Most of the projects focus on using bead caps and cones, memory wire, chain, simple wirework, and different multi strand techniques. There are several creative lariat projects, including one that I remember from the first issue of “Chic & Easy Beading” that I made and loved:

The book has the same high quality photos and step-by-step how to’s to work your way through each project. Even the Winged Brooch, a bead embroidery project, gives good, clear directions on bead embroidery stitches with very helpful accompanying photos. Bead embroidery projects can be really tough to explain and illustrate well…the book does a good job!

Some of my other favorite projects from the books are the two pieces that use stone donuts in really creative ways, the lovely Half-Round Roman ring made with wire and a flat bead, and the lovely appliqué cuff bracelet!

Whether you have been making jewelry for years, or are new to jewelry making, this is a wonderful book if you love complicated-looking artisan designs without the hours of work!
