This is a really classic design…and a gorgeous way to dress up your Valentine’s Day outfit!

Supplies:

Tiger tail or monofilament for stringing (two lengths cut a few inches longer than you want your final piece to be)

Twisted liquid silver beads

Round silver beads

Red glass or crystal facet-cut beads (I used two different sizes)

Two to four tube crimps

1 clasp (I used a toggle clasp)

Needle nose or crimping pliers

Scissors or wire cutters for cutting stringing material

Directions:

Determine the length you want your necklace. Mine is about 20 inches. Cut two lengths of stringing material (I used tiger tail) a few inches longer than you want your final piece. I used only one crimp for each end, threading both pieces of tiger tail through it, but you could crimp each strand on seperately if you prefer. (If you are new to using crimps, check out this tutorial for some great photo examples).

Crimp one end with half your clasp and string your beads towards the other end until you get the length you want…since this is a simple pattern, it is way easier than threading up from the middle and holding on to both ends!

In this project, the strands are strung exactly the same, but you could alternate the patterns for a different look.

Start by stringing four pieces of twisted liquid silver pushing them down to the crimped end. Add a round silver bead, a larger red glass bead, and another round silver bead on each strand.

Add two more pieces of twisted liquid silver on each strand, then add a round silver bead, a smaller red glass bead, and another round silver bead to each strand.

Pattern Breakdown:

Four Liquid Silver

One Round Silver

One Large Red Glass Bead

One Round Silver

Two Liquid Silver

One Round Silver

One Small Red Glass Bead

One Round Silver

Repeat

Repeat this pattern until you complete the length you want, and then crimp on the other end of the clasp at the other side. Trim off any extra stringing material.

Have a Wonderful Valentine’s Day!
